San Diego favorite Phil Johnson stars as Felix Artifex, a fast-talking B-list producer who gets in over his head when he takes on an epic about the French Revolution. Egotistical movie stars, stubborn writers, his estranged wife and a mess involving sheep are no obstacles for Artie!
SkyFrom Mistakes Were Made performed at Cygnet Theatre
Composition: Omar Ramos "The setting is an office; the time, the present. A small picture frame is on the desk, turned away from us. There is a thirty-gallon fish tank with one huge ugly koi goldfish swimming in it. The walls are covered with posters from the shows Felix has produced, all of them revivals with oddly-cast stars."

The Pride is a time shifting exploration of identity and passion. Oliver, Philip, and Sylvia are caught in a love triangle. Their complex and tumultuous relationship shifts from the repression of 1958 to the sexual liberation of 2008 and back again.
GestureFrom The Pride performed at Diversionary Theatre
Composition: Omar Ramos "He leaves. Oliver is left alone in the room. He stands and walks over to where the scotch is to pour himself a drink. Then, suddenly he stops. There is a gesture - a move of the hand to the head, a bowing of the head, something - a gesture that suggests aloneness."
"Philip exits and Sylvia stays in the room alone. A few seconds pass and she slowly stands. She is about to follow him into the bedroom but then, suddenly, there is a gesture - an echo of Oliver's gesture from the end of the previous scene. An anguish." From The Pride by Alexi Kaye Campbell |

BARK is a work that explores relationships and disciplined behaviors we humans come to know that are not so distant from animal-human dynamics. The piece draws from a life-threatening experience when Karen Schaffman was mauled by two dogs. BARK investigates loyalty, obedience, vulnerability, and companionship. The artists explore extreme "high alert" states and sensual connections through "skin."

Aphra Behn, secret agent, poet, and soon to be the first professional female playwright, is getting out of jail and getting into show biz. Now, if she can only write her play without interruptions from her lovers— King Charles II, actress Nell Gwynne and double-agent William Scott.
Frantic WritingFrom Or, performed at Moxie Theatre
Composition: Omar Ramos "Maria exits. Aphra slowly sits, still stunned and taking it in. She picks up her pen. She turns in the chair...and then she is utterly absorbed in writing. After all the frantic action, it’s a quiet, peaceful scene. Time passes."
