In The Last Play by Rickérby Hinds, an AfroLatino playwright finds himself at an impasse, struggling to write a play that authentically captures the complexities of Latinidad. Desperate for inspiration, he conjures the vibrant and eclectic characters from his previous works, hoping they will guide him through his creative block. However, as these characters collide and interact in unpredictable ways, their antics throw his creative process into disarray. Through this tumultuous and often hilarious journey, the playwright is forced to confront his own questions about identity, heritage, and the pressures of artistic success.
